I just read that Vijayanagar Empire was founded by valorous brothers Harihar and Bukka with the blessings and guidance of Swami Vidyaranya of Shringeri Math. The Swami did tapas for re-establishing Hindu Rashtra for next 2000 yrs. 1/

Swami Vidyaranya asked both brothers to be ready to lay the foundation @ the most appropriate "Muhurt" which will be made known to them by Shankh-naad by him. Error happened as a sanyasi blew the conch few min before, @ which, the 2 brothers laid the foundation of Vijayanagar 2/

Swami realized that the perfect Muhurt was missed due to confusion, severely curtailing the longevity of the empire. He meditated on Mother Sharda who revealed to him that the empire "wasn't destined" to last for 2000 yrs but only 250 years & hence the confusion was created 3/

by the destiny so that the most opportune moment is missed. She gave him (Swami Vidyaranya) the assurance that the Hindu rashtra will again come up after 500 yrs which will last for 2000 years as per the fruits of the tapas he has done for desiring it's re-establishment.

I want to make three of points.
1) This story further cements my steadfast faith that the Hindu Dharma/Sanatan culture survived primarily due to its Spiritual foundation. Rishis-munis-sanyasis-bhaktas are at the base!

2) Jyotish Shaastra works & Muhurtas were used for imp purposes.

3)) Everything in this world is pre-destined. Even after Vidyaranya's perfect guidance, Vijaya Nagara could not last long as it wasn't destined.
The most appropriate Muhurt was missed by the play of destiny.
