This is so interesting:
“Individuals are more creative than groups. When I ask business leaders in executive workshops who is more creative, groups or individuals, almost no one chooses individuals...But virtually no research supports this.”
Yet, I continue to believe in teams https://twitter.com/ralph_ohr/status/1336379437596676097
Maybe it’s because I feel that teams of highly creative & diverse individuals are all too often led as if they are groups, not teams... or if they are seen as real teams, it is without an explicit intention to get the most out of them.
Our vocabulary is not precise enough, and the whole concept of teams is so casual in practice, & frequently without reference to the strategic context, that I don’t know how to interpret the data.
“Facilitate idea expression through brainwriting.” This is a really interesting way to promote individual creativity within a dispersed group format... sort of like virtual nominal grouping... that also offers a way to pretotype new ideas.
