Julie Schumer (abstract) and James Koskinas (portrait) pride themselves on painting close together but in different styles. Their words.
imo the thing about abstract splotching is you can't tell one artist from another, and rely entirely on the audience for meaning. sure that was novel at one time, but at some point you reduce more than the medium, but the reflective value as well. noise for noise sake?
Gebhardt Gallery "Egos, competition, unsolicited opinions — two artists under one roof, is that even possible?"

I SHOULD SAY NOT!
when people describe their work as "They make statements that stop people and start conversations." the work invariably looks like a rough draft or half assed....is that hunter biden?
this one called character flaws looks like a certain past president
sometimes I gett the feeling modern art is increasingly about "what do you think the artist was feeling when they made this"

then again, how many people find art therapy "fascinating...something to 'research' and 'explore'"

CHUCK JONES INCOGNITO
Jones helped bring to life many of Warner Bros. most famous characters—Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd and Porky Pig. The list of characters he created himself includes Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, Marvin Martian, Pepe le Pew, Michigan J. Frog and others
He also produced, directed and wrote the screenplays for “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas,”..Jones often recalled a small child who, when told that Jones drew Bugs Bunny, replied: “He doesn’t draw Bugs Bunny. He draws pictures of Bugs Bunny.”
His point was that the child thought of the character as being alive and believable, which was, in Jones’ belief, the key to true character animation.
look how he stands out from the rest
and what a variety of style too

I never get tired of artist bios.
Sharon Grimes creates “a feast for the eyes,” as stated by curator of La Posada de Santa Fe and Spa, Sara Eyestone. Her contemporary abstract works leap off the wall and into their viewer’s mind through the use of scintillating color.
Yes I enjoy art shit while also ironically shitting on artists. I'll file these under "post card designs and bathroom frames with incense"

"Stephen Robeck is a photographic artist based in Santa Fe, NM. Much of his work is drawn from nature, but he enjoys creating images whose origins may not be readily clear. This kind of abstraction often leads to works that are intriguing, but also a bit mysterious."
looks like water to me
a lot of art has to be seen in person because of techniques used. that may be the case here.
All images are finished by hand. They are printed with pigment inks on lightly textured fine art paper, laminated to acid free board and sealed with three coats of an archival polymer..."
One of the most influential street artists to emerge from New York, DAIN combines the visual language of graffiti with collaged old portraits of Hollywood glamour stars...his unmistakable trademark is the “circle and drip” around the eye of his subjects.

To be human is to struggle sometimes. Happiness is not always a choice. Sometimes the sun goes away and you can’t even find the spot where it used to be.
TBF I cut some of the bios for what I think are better descriptors or what is funny in the moment. Many of these bios are 3 to 5 paragraphs long.
CHARLES SANTORA PHOTOGRAPHY
I’m an Austin, TX based fine art photographer. My work could be summed up as an artistic view of man’s achievements combined with the human experience within the urban environment.
WALTER REDONDO FINE ART
My paintings are fueled by the expression of things that come to me through life’s unseen experiences. Every placement of color, or covering of another color, affects and shapes the painting. I love the process of squeezing paint from the tubes
he said he loves squeezing paint from tubes
he really loves just squeezing

MIRI MARCHESE
I love painting. My art is figurative and I choose the object of my work in a way that has to do with the meaning of my life at the moment... I deeply admire women, that is why a large part of my work is dedicated to her.

Picture this: An American woman flees a glamorous job as an arts dealer. She sells all of her possessions and moves to the South of France alone, though she speaks no French. My name is Crista Cloutier and I am a visual-storyteller. That’s right,
I took a profound leap of faith and left a successful career in the art business to become a visual-storyteller in the South of France. The collection I’m showing here is titled “and she lived happily ever after”. I think it’s a story that you might recognize.
as great as this collection of instagram captions are I'm gonna skip the next four.
compare the theme of the last artist's bio with this next one.

FABIO DAL BONI’s art, a mix between new pop art and fine art photography, is the result of his continuous quest to find those supernatural colors that he perceives when looking at the world.
this stuff reminds me of art you find in commercial art studios and possibly cruise ships.
JAMES PATERSON STUDIOI have been an “Imagineer” for as long as I can remember. (no where in his bio does he claim to work for disney)

ROSARIA VIGORITO
I am an Italian-American, a lesbian, a retired NY lawyer and law librarian professor, and an ovarian cancer survivor, but my calling is that of an artist. I rediscovered my childhood passion for art as an adult, which I call my second coming out.
Art should also be on the edge and push the societal bar, not for the mere sake of getting attention for attention’s sake, but as fulfilling a fundamental function of the artist as messenger, philosopher and empath. This role includes, to challenge
our known perception and preconceived notions, and to dare to be raw, emotional, psychological, sensual, spiritual and provocative.
Jackie Fuchs was born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1958. Being a late bloomer had its advantages, having quite high school at age 15, she returned to school and obtained a BFA in Art Education, Film and Psychology, at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
Fuchs moved to Sag Harbor, with her wife and new baby, opened four hair salons, while continuing to teaching art, clay sculpture, and hosting retreats focused on spiritual growth. (who read this bio and didn't see rbg coming?)
This prolific artist now draws on her years of talent, color theory and imagination to produce highly collectable pieces of art. Her new work is fueled by a whimsical instinct that evidences itself in uniquely imagined pieces that might best be described
as freeze frames in a movie set or a chapter in a book.
Experimentation with intuition—this is the hallmark of Chadwick Arcinue’s artistic eye, which has grown and flourished from a talent long in the awakening.
His inner artist was given free rein only in the past two years as Chadwick put aside his successful career in the world of finance, “picked up the brush” and established The Chadwick Concepts.
Roxy Sora, arrived in Florida fromCuba when she was 8 years old. Roxy and her sister were sent to an orphanage until they were reunited with their parent. Her time at the orphanage served as her opportunity to express herself through drawings since she did not speak the language.
