So angry I’m speechless. Someone I thought cared about me reposted an IG story railing against a concert venue that made people (gasp!) sit at tables due to COVID and ranted “if you have a weakened immune system, stay home.” Do I really need to explain to adults how this works?
I’m autoimmune; I have “stayed home” since February with very rare exceptions. But your “right” to stand next to strangers at a concert is not more important than my life. Because YOU may survive Covid, but you’ll spread it to my Instacart driver and others who can infect me.
So before you post bullshit like this, think about what you are saying: It’s more important for you to drink beer shoulder to shoulder with a stranger at a country music venue than for me to survive this pandemic. I hear you LOUD AND CLEAR.
I can’t just “stay home” — we have to go to the doctor and the pharmacy to get Rx that can’t be delivered. Guess who I cross paths with at those places? Asymptotic carriers (3.41% of SF today) and people who don’t mask properly. And you’re upset about having to SIT at a concert?
