Mind u even LA City Council (far from champions 4 tenants rights or anti-development) adopted an ordinance requiring public land go for affordable housing.

Went to @metrolosangeles board other non-LA reps were shocked.
Garcetti's Metro rep #JackieDupontWalker (also n bed w/the Jared Kushner folk at Crenshaw Mall) pushed 4 moderate income housing: folks making between $90K+/yr...n hood where the median income for fam of 4 is 40K!

Interesting fact: #JackieDupontWalker also spoke out against the rent control initiative on the CA ballot #Prop21. She along #CommunityBuild's Robert Sausedo were the only nonprofit affordable housing developers in the whole state to be against Prop 21.

When it went to Metro Board, non-LA reps were like WTF? Paraphrase "Deal is we give u the land & u give us affordability. There might be variation in levels of affordability but no market-rate housing on public land." Not at #CrenshawCrossing #AffordableForWho @LATenantsUnion
Couple that with LA's Transit Oriented Districts (aka transit oriented displacement) & u see Garcetti's transit expansion plans arent 4 improvn riders service (who r disproportionately Black/Brown & low-income) #MeasureM but a/b development & the #NOlympics! #TOC #JJJ
To be fair @ericgarcetti isn't alone. But in the city that has the distinction of being both the worst for traffic & housing affordability, he has not only failed to lead, he's actually pushed plans that make things worse! #CrenshawCrossing is a perfect example y 2 #BlockGarcetti
