There is currently a debate on the use of tā moko (sacred Māori tattoos) in #Cyberpunk2077
I would like to share it with you. I’m not Māori so I have tried to amplify Māori voices on both sides of the discussion. Māori Tumblr user sanguinxs explains one side very clearly.

On the other side of the discussion, some people are saying that the tattoos could be considered to be #kirituhi, non-sacred tattoos able to be worn by non-Māori people. This post is by Reddit user Hollow_Hubris who appears to be Māori.
Sanguinxs replies to this to say that non-sacred Māori tattoo art (kirituhi) is not usually done on the chin in this manner. And that they don’t like the idea unless the design was gifted to the dev team by a Māori artist.

This is a very detailed post by a Māori tattoo artist on the differences between kirituhi and tā moko & would give anyone unfamiliar with the discussion a lot of search terms to find more content to read on their own. http://www.tarynberi.com/blog/2015/4/10/the-difference-between-kirituhi-and-moko
I reckon a good number of my followers might not realise the huge discussions that link in with this specific part of #Cyberpunk2077
, so I hope I showed you something interesting today.
