People always say, "It's the data that's biased!"...Well, of course! It will always be biased. The issue I have is that it's always biased against me & my community. Like every artifact and institution of systematic racism, that's something I need to push back against to be seen.
Grateful that I can finally say this - I've been swimming in these thoughts since I was a startup intern years ago and given a set of white faces to label. Grateful for inspirational leaders like @jovialjoy, @timnitGebru, @ruha9 & now @isbellHFh that really gifted us with a voice
