Today is my 7th straight day of work. Partly because multiple colleagues are out due to Covid. We’ve reached 3k people dying in this country daily from this. Yet my feed is full of people who still brush it off
‘It’s a scam’. ‘I’m not trusting a vaccine’. ‘I hate lockdowns’. ‘It’s a plot’. ‘I hate masks’
I’ll just say it - a lot of people around me sound very stupid. And they’re acting moronic. It’s beyond taxing

You’re complaining about gyms being restricted and restaurants being closed, yet you’ll do nothing to have them reopen safely. Absolutely nothing. You think the virus gives a damn about your Apple cider vinegar shots?
If you’re not going to restrict travel, or wear masks, or take the vaccine, then you’ve saying you rather things get worse. Because they will get worse. A lot worse. That’s how uncontrolled pandemics work
Medical professionals are dropping like flies. When you hear stories about cities running out of ICU beds - think about what means. It means if you have a serious issue, you’ll have to travel to a different city. Or state depending on where you live
You want to keep doing your box jumps in a gym with no mask to maintain your fitness. It’s hard having abs when your lungs stop working, or you have heart damage. Or have a stroke from a blood clot
‘I don’t trust the long term effects of a vaccine’. Fine. I definitely don’t trust the long term effects of Covid. I actually read about it. I actually treat people with it. That shit ain’t a joke. It’s equivalent to saying I don’t trust seatbelts because my air bag will save me
And all this talk about ‘let people do what they want and mind your business’ is horse shit. We’re not talking about hair styles or macaroni & cheese preferences. Your choices affect everyone. Your selfishness affects EVERYONE
I can’t wait to take this damn vaccine because I know so many people who won’t. I have to protect myself against you numbskulls so I can take care of you when you get sick. And you WILL get sick. And if I get sick because of y’all, we’re gonna have some problems
But nah - you rather tweet about Bill Gates and telling people to ‘do the research’. Research isn’t IG videos shared by the same social media influencers over and over again. Especially someone who has never used a fucking microscope
This has been going on for a year. It’s impacted the whole world. So of course people are going to work together to fix it quickly. 20 people can clean a house quicker than 2 people. And guess what - scientists miss movies and brunch too. That’s why they’re working
.....2020 has been a rough year, both personally and professionally. But it’s also been illuminating. A lot of you are ignorant, selfish, and overly confident and brash in your foolery. You have no issue putting people in danger to assuage your ego.
As a doctor, I swore an oath to give my best to ensure patient safety and care, regardless of the patient. And it take my oath seriously. Because otherwise, I would tell y’all to go to hell and take a long ass vacation.
But instead, people like me sacrifice their time and lives and health to take care of jokers who go to hookah bars and mock student loan debt as ‘a choice’. Be happy we don’t have that same energy when you can’t breath anymore because you wanna raw dog some air being reckless
Anyway - i’m working out before I work this last day of my shift. Be safe, wear a mask, and stop listening to dummies just because they’re attractive
