You sacked me from the Board of Trustees of a women's charity a few weeks after this article came out because you (all) claimed I was a liability and that if I had any integrity, I should have resigned. I didn't (because I was the victim) so you sacked me.

That was @BWV2. They encouraged me to apply because they wanted "more diversity". A few weeks ago, Reclaim The Night organisers said they were keen to host me on Nov 25th to give a speech on VAWG. However, the "condition" was I didnt mention anything I myself have experienced...
That is, they wanted a Dominican woman to give a speech about Nov 25th, the Mirabal sisters and how Violence Is Bad, presumably with a very sad face. But not mention the targeting I have experienced fighting for women's rights in the UK, because it'd be politically inconvenient.
They said there was "unease about this in terms of inviting a negative or violent backlash" and impact this would have on the white women managing the FB page... without clocking in the impact that could have on me. As if I should be immune or used to abuse for my campaigning.
One day, a very brave sister is going to have to write a book about what goes on in the women's sector when you are a) not white an b) not from the UK. Because what I have experienced and heard from other women who join thinking we'd all be equal is grim and bleak. End of thread.
