One thing that can be said about the concussion litigation in rugby: it may or may not succeed, but it cannot be claimed head impacts are “soft” when you listen to these players.
Next time you hear a commentator try to argue an impact shouldn’t have been punished, or talk about “ruining the game” - turn over. Shut the website. Bin the paper.

And let them know why you did that: because they are fighting keeping rugby possible and players safe.
It’s a game. I love rugby to distraction, I will watch any rugby anywhere, but I watch a game as a game. I do not watch to see players hurt, and protecting players from brain injuries doesn’t ruin that game one tiny little bit. It protects and improves the game, not ruins it.
If you need that to be able to watch a game - if it’s spoilt for you if the risk of brain injury is reduced or removed - then you don’t want to watch rugby as a game, you want a substitute for the arena.

Scratch your itch to see people hurt elsewhere, because rugby ain’t it.
