So... about all this “the end of Christianity as we know it” fear-mongering...

This is another example of how goofy you sound when you are ignorant of the history of the Black citizens in your midst.

Because much of the Black Church as we know it was born in forced secrecy... https://twitter.com/jim_jordan/status/1336420640291688457
During antebellum slavery, Black people in southern states (which is where the VAST majority of Black people were) often could not worship without white people present.

So if they ever wanted to worship in spirit and in truth, they had to do so in secrecy.
Out of this tradition came the Negro Spirituals & gospel music, the imprint of which exists in more genres of music than you know

The Black Church was also the primary means of community organizing & leadership development for Black Americans 100+ years post emancipation.
There was even a period of time where most charismatic/Pentecostal ministers had to get their credentials/ordination through a Black denomination (COGIC).

White people had to work through descendants of people who had to work around state sanctioned white resistance.
I say all that to say that fear-mongering about saying “Merry Christmas” looks goofy in the presence of people whose ancestors endured the oppression of folks who ain’t view em as human & created a tradition beautiful enough to be celebrated around the world today.
The more I learned of Black Church history, the more upset I became with myself for almost listening to what White “brothers and sisters” tried to tell me about my heritage.

The Black Church is one of (if not the) best representations of the Acts Church we have in the USA.
If you are truly concerned about being able to say “Merry Christmas” or whatever (which is a weird thing to be concerned about, but whatever), find you some Black folks to learn from.

You might mess around and learn how God can bring light out of darkness.
