For today’s #LeedsDropInAndDraw we will be looking at cards and our beloved Victorian scrapbook that was mysteriously donated to us in the 1990’s. It’s bursting with curious and traditional card designs full of personal sentiment and wonder. Can you design us a card today?
The first Christmas card was delivered in 1843 commissioned by John Calcott Horsley to give to his family but also produced for others to purchase at a shilling a card.

It was originally considered a flop, possibly due to the expense but with the insurgence of German Christmas traditions such as the decorated Christmas tree brought to Britain by Prince Albert, it soon gained popularity.

And for some card themed inspiration, here are some librarian made Christmas cards. Perhaps in today’s challenge you could create your design and give it to someone for Christmas? #LeedsDropInAndDraw
