My late grandmother used to sit us round her dinner table and tell us stories by candle lights as kids. During the Codesa years when Inkatha was doing its thing in the townships there were curfews and sometimes we went weeks without electricity. She made it all bearable đź’•
I just remembered one of the stories that still makes me laugh to this day:

Sipho's grandmother had been admitted to hospital and he decided to go visit her in the hospital. She had been heavily sedated and would fade in and out of sleep. So he sat there even when she dozed off
After the 3rd time she dozed off he noticed a saucer of raisins sitting in her side table and he helped himself to a few. Each time she dozed off he'd grab a bit of them and snack away happily. Eventually they were all finished and he was scared to tell her.
So he snuck out to buy a new packet of raisins. As he came back to her bed from the shops with the raisins he'd bought he found her wide awake.

She asked him where he had gone to and he chose to admit he had finished her raisins and had gone to buy more.
She started laughing and laughing until she couldn't laugh anymore. When she eventually settled down Sipho asked her what was so funny.

She proceeded to explain what was funny...
The raisins were from chocolates someone had brought her. Coz she had problems with her dentures she couldn't chew raisins, so she'd just suck on the chocolates until only the raisins were left. Then she'd spit the raisins into the saucer.

The end.
In my gran's warped sense of humour she was teaching us a lesson. First ask before you take something 🤣🤣
