2020 has been a tough year for exercise and there's less access to outdoor facilities and gyms. But don't despair – these handy 1943 Combined Operations exercises will not only get you fit and healthy, but they'll prepare you for that next Commando raid on the enemy coast!
Keeping Covid at bay with an effective AA barrage is vital, so you'd better limber up those arms to make sure you can train your Bofors with the utmost speed and accuracy. Remember to repeat the exercise over and over and over and over and over again!
Puny cox'ns are no good in the Royal Navy! If you want to be able to hold your course in an LCM 3, try these exercises to give you increased upper body strength. Soon you'll be able to take whatever the weather – or Jerry – throws at you!
Don't waste time getting ashore – this great little stretch will soon see you ready to leap from your landing craft's bow ramp and into the surf without a second's delay. Charge up that beach like a true Commando!
Using live grenades in your home can be dangerous, but here's a handy stretch to get those muscles ready to knock out that machine gun post. Keep repeating it and your muscle memory will have you throwing Mills bombs in your sleep in no time!
Make sure you do all of these exercises at least three times to make your daily dozen quota. And remember, imagining that grenade landing dead centre in the machine gun nest and knocking out the enemy before they do for you is good for the spirit!
