We know from our Covid survey that school closures disadvantaged some children and young people more than others. Closing school buildings should always be the last resort and made in the best interests of all pupils.
Parental choice is important as you know your children best. However schools must remain open for those pupils of working parents unable to work from home, and pupils living in situations of vulnerability
There should be regular wellbeing checks on those pupils staying at home
If pupils are asked to learn from home they must be supported and not disadvantaged by lack of tech or access to the internet
The wellbeing of our children and young people is paramount in any decision to be made
