.there’s still entrepreneurs who refuse to have employment contract entered into with their own SMMEs. Natural person (u) enters into a contract with juristic person (biz) stipulating salaries, benefits, etc. If biz can’t pay yet, biz’ balance sheet must show debt owned to u. 
.with the help of our accountant, we made sure we got a payroll software in place even with just 2 employees to manage PAYE, leave days, UIF, etc. But more importantly, it was a hack to legitimately play to credit system - payslips & all. Getting ur ducks in a row starts early
.anyway, yesterday I spent a day advising an tech founder on why he should upgrade to a proper HR/payroll system. Here are the 10 reasons. But the 11th most important one: take the running of your SMME seriously, these tools don’t cost an arm & a leg. #SageForSmallBiz
.please, build some decent governance & accountable in ur small biz. Biz can’t pay u a salary/wage but when I look at ur bank statement I see Chicken Licken, Sportscene, Busy Corner, etc. Can’t fail credit/funding assessment over rookie mistakes. Get payroll! #SageForSmallBiz
.when u got an employment contract in place, u put clauses in there that give allowance for biz to pay u whenever it’s cash positive but capped at specific salary amount. Salary is R20k, in bank statement I can see R5k x 4 in a 4 week period interval. I get me? #SageForSmallBiz

.entrepreneurs will cause brouhaha demanding funding & no advice nor training until u ask to see their SMME or startup bank statement. And then u ask urself: without u uttering a single word, can I trust this person with a R5mil just looking at his/her biz financial behavior? 
.no discipline, no governance, no accountability, nothing. Fokol! Smh
