President Akufo-Addo lost 3% from what he got in 2016 and John Mahama gained nearly 3% but the swan song is the NPP MPs didn’t help Nana
Like I said you people love Nana Addo so much so fail to hold him accountable
In 2016, there were 29 cases of skirt and blouse and of those 29, 26 voted John Mahama but not the NDC candidate
If they had voted for NDC, the NPP 169 would have been 143 which I believe is their strength in Parliamentary
That huge gap in 2016 was an outlier
So what you should ask yourself is, the seats the NPP lost in 2020, were they swing seats meaning either NDC or NPP could win it? Majority of them were already NDC seats they lost because of internal party wrangling and 8 year curse
So taking them back in 2020 is no news
So for those saying this election 2020 was this tight just because the NPP MPs failed to work hence that caused the drop for Nana Addo is not wholly true
What did Nana Addo too do for himself in the Presidential? He lost almost 3%
What the NPP needs to do is take account of the elections and stop the notion that John Mahama and the NDC are a spent force
Always don’t underestimate your opponents in a fight no matter how weak you perceive them to be
So many lessons to be learnt and improve
Now let’s look at the NPP loses to buttress my point

1. Tema East
Titus Glover lost here but in 2016, he won a very cosmopolitan area by 4000 difference but in 2012, he won by just 3 votes and Mahama even won here
So the NDC with the right candidate could snatch it anytime
2. Zebilla(Bawku West)
This seat has always been won by the NDC so it’s not swing
In 2016, Mahama won by 6400 difference but Majority leader Cletus Avoka lost by 240 votes
So the NDC winning in 2020 means water is wet
3. PRESTEA HUNI VALLEY
This constituency is a swing region with NPP winning 3x and NDC 3x since 1996
In 2016, Mahama won here by Tourism Minister won the seat for NPP
Not surprised if NDC takes it back
4. ATEBUBU AMANTIN

The NDC has won all elections here except 2016 when their MP lost by 1100 votes but Mahama still won the Presidential by 3,400
The NDC candidate Sanja Naja was at war with the chiefs in 2016 and reason the lost
NDC winning 2020 means little
5. TAIN
This is a swing constituency with each party winning 2x
But in 2016, the NPP candidate won by just 41 votes but the NDP candidate who likely will have NDC roots pulled 2477 votes
NDC winning in 2020 is no news
6. NALERIGU
The local government minister Hajia Alima Mahama lost here but aside 2016, the NDC has won 4x and NPP 2x
The only time NPP won Presidential was 2016 so if the NDC wins the Parliamentary in 2020, it’s no news and remember the northern part of Ghana changes MPs often
7. KRACHIE EAST

This is in Oti but formerly Volta region and NDC has won every elections here except 2016 when Micheal Yaw Gyato won for the NPP with a difference of 47
The NPP going into 2020 knew they would lose this seat so no news
8. JOMORO

This has always been a swing constituency and the deciding factor in the last 3 elections has always been Samia Nkrumah who even won once
So NPP MP losing is very normal and nothing to do with the MP not helping Nana
9. NKORANZA SOUTH

This is an NDC seat they’ve won since 2004 and only lost in 2016
So they just took back their seat and has nothing to do with the NPP MP not helping Nana
10. ASSIN NORTH
NPP has won 4x and NDC 2x but the NDC was the incumbent in 2016 and lost it to the NPP and looking at how the central region has normally voted in Ghana, it’s anyone’s seat in 2020
11. UPPER MANYA KROBO

Krobo areas in Eastern region is mainly NDC and they’ve won every election here except 2016 where there was a wind of change blowing hugely
NDC just took back their baby
12. ABLEKUMA CENTRAL

Each party has won 3x here and the NDC 3 included 2008 and 2012
The 2020 elections was one the NDC won the Greater Accra region so I’m not shocked they took the seat
I don’t think the MP lost hence failed to help Nana
13. DORMAA WEST

There have been 2 elections here before 2020 and NDC won in 2012 with 55.60% but the NPP won with 50.88%
So with same candidates been repeated, the NDC taking it back goes beyond the sitting MP not doing enough
This happens always in the Bono Ahafo region
14. WENCHI

This is the first shock in this thread because this is the birthplace of Dr Busia who was part of the founders of the PP that birthed the NPP
But the NDC won in 2012 so even though it’s an outlier, it didn’t seem impossible
15. JAMAN NORTH

This is in the Bono area and both parties have won 2x but strangely the NDC has won the Presidential 3x and only lost in 2016
So it doesn’t surprise many an election watcher if the NDC recaptured the seat in 2020
16. JAMAN SOUTH

This is a strange one because NPP has won all elections here comfortably and quite shocking they lost
I’d have to check the circumstances that might have led to this strange win for the NDC
17. LEDZOKUKU

This seem a strange loss for NPP because of the person involved Dr Okoe Boye who endeared himself to many after his 2016 win
But the NPP had won twice and last time was 2004 before the 2016 win
In 2016, Mahama won here
I’m not sure Okoe Boye didn’t do enough
18. CAPE COAST NORTH

This is a normal loss and has nothing to do with Barbera Ayisi not working hard enough for Nana
2 elections here and NDC won 2012 and NPP 2016 and Central is swing so no news if NDC won
19. NEW EDUBIASE

This has always been one of the few constituencies the NDC has won in the NPP stronghold of Ashanti region
The incumbent deputy Agric minister did so much here and the NPP were confident retaining but the NDC took it back
George Oduro worked paaa
20. LAWRA

This is an NDC safe seat and lost to Karbo because their incumbent in 2016 lost primaries to Bede Ziedeng and went independent
In 2016 Karbo had 8000+
NDC had 7700
IND had 7300

NDC just took back their baby after they solved their internal problems
21. MADINA

The NDC had won all 3 Elections before losing to Boniface in 2016
Boniface cannot be said you have not worked to help President Akufo-Addo but the NDC just chose the right candidate with top credentials and they took their seat back
22. AWUTU SENYA WEST

3 wins for each but before 2016 that George Andah won for NPP, their last win was in 2004
The NDC in 2020 just fielded former MP Hannah Tetteh’s Sister Gisella and they took it back
I’m not sure anyone thinks George failed to work enough to retain it
23. NKORANZA NORTH

The deputy Defense minister losing was not expected but the NDC had won once here
It’s my thinking that the constituents like many Ghanaians might have had issues with the speech and demeanor of the former soldier
24. ADENTA

This constituency has never retained an MP and Yaw Buabeng Asamoah was always going to struggle
The NDC candidate also corrected his wrongs and mounted a better campaign in 2020
Not shocked NPP lost but this might be a case where an MP didn’t help Nana
25. TEMPANE

The deputy Attorney General lost here but this place has been always NDC and the independent candidate in 2016 allowed the NPP to take the seat
All NDC had to do is select a candidate tactically and with how voting in the upper areas goes, they won 2020
26. KROWOR

This is a swing constituency but there was a lot of people who even are not election aware who felt the Fisheries Minister was always going to lose
The NPP should ask how she became that unpopular and what they did about it
27. NAVRONGO CENTRAL

The NPP has won 4 out of the last 5 elections and in their primaries the regional minister ousted the Aviation Minister Kofi Adda
Many have talked about the good works of the woman in the region so it cannot be about her not working well enough
28. EKUMFI

This is an NDC stronghold and won every Presidential here since 1996 and only lost the Parliamentary in 2016
This is the home constituency of former President and NDC candidate John Atta Mills(RIP)
These are the seats the media has reported the NPP lost and will update when others come

Looking at these areas, it can never be factual that the 2020 elections was this close because the NPP MPs who lost didn’t help Nana
Over 80% were NDC work and these MPs could do little
