First things first, which servant(s) do you wish to summon?
I tend to keep up with JP & look on the wiki for servants I’m interested in! It’s always a good idea to read up on their skill sets & watch gameplay videos to see if you want them in your Chaldea!

This ties in with planning which servants you want!
You may end up writing a long list of servants you want to summon that all release in the same year!
I recommend cutting it down to around 4 servants a year!

Most of us aren’t whalers here, it isn’t possible to summon all of the servants we wish for. Unless it’s GSSR, 4/5* ticket, there is no guarantee/pity & you have to always be mindful of that
Limiting it to 4 servants helps you stack up with SQ!

If you’re still having trouble
-Check how often they are on rate up

I recommend doing so, as someone who owns almost all of the 4*s and a decent amount of 5*s...
There’s PLENTY of them I don’t use.

Anyhoo, onto the currency!
You should set an minimum amount of sq you want to keep whether you fail or succeed in summoning the servant.
Ex: for me, I don’t want to go below 200sq + 20 tickets
It’s easy to spend sq, harder to replace it!

Do NOT convert your fragments!
The less you convert, the more sq you’ll get in return (also makes it easier to forget about them!)
I started saving my fragments around feb/March, and I currently have 130+ sq!
I recommend converting them on the “most worth-it”/fav banner!

But do NOT convert them before you even start summoning. Use what you wish to first (do not surpass your limit!)

Tickets can be tricky as I know some like to use them to get rid of their urge to roll
The thing is, tickets are better when you have an abundance of them!
I feel more secure & ‘safe’ with my savings when I have a lot of tickets, fragments, and sq!

If you don’t think you’re able to save too many tickets, make a compromise.
Only use tickets you get from events & keep the monthly shop ones (or vice versa!)
Your ticket amount will slowly grow! Just make sure to keep track what you previously had before spending

I currently have my saving thread pinned for everyone to see!
I recommend updating it more frequently at the beginning of your journey. The first few weeks (or months) will be your hardest. Then update at your own pace (imo, at least 1-2 times per month)

Saving buddies are very useful
Robin & I helped push and motivate each other to save!
We checked each other’s savings almost daily!
This makes it easier for your friend to tell whether or not you got tempted by gacha!!

Another option is to join a discord or create a gc!
I have a few moots on here that have discord’s servers/channels dedicated to FGO
For an example, Robin has a motivation channel in her server where several friends post their savings and we all send each other good vibes

I personally use push notifications for when my AP is full!
I have set times when I play
Once my AP is empty, I don’t like to waste time on the app
Boredom can increase your urge to roll! Don’t be on the game longer than you need too.

Whatever you do, AVOID the summoning button/screen!
I personally do not recommend going on the summoning screen to screenshot your savings!
Only go there for master missions (when it says to roll FP)

BE PATIENT!
This takes time getting use to.

As long you are patient with yourself & your savings, you’ll be able to do it! I believe in you!
