Unless you see it firsthand I don't think many will understand how Covid is just taxing the hell out of us right now. We don't have room for patients anymore in pretty much any Memphis hospital. It's crazy! We are asking patients to consider moving from one hospital to another
When a bed or room becomes available at another facility. There are male patients being admitted to the women pavilions . I've never experienced anything like this. It's like what I imagine a catastrophic earthquake or natural disaster would be with the influx of patients.
Ambulances are lined up and firefighters are having to sit with patients HOURS after arriving at the hospital where they should be unloading. Every hospital is on critical advisory. Everybody is angry. The sharing of supplies is becoming out of the question as hospital
It's bad right now and I'm dreading going to work tomorrow. Today I had a covid pregnant woman in labor that couldn't breathe.... trying to fight for her life while bringing life into this world. I swear some of this just messes with your mind.
I'm staying positive and upbeat.....trying to keep a strong mind and body. Now I'm stressed hearing that my chief tested positive and here I was driving him around on runs my last 2 days at the fire station. So now I may be on a 14 day quarantine according to HR.
Stay as healthy as you can gals and guys. Do your part to for not only yourself but others. Those firefighters, EMS workers, hospital staff that you know and love are catching it big time. So just try to do your part please..... thanks!!
