I was taught growing up that only tourists went around beating their breasts about how uniquely terrible Americans were, and it was a kind of narcissistic myopia but again that was wrong!
(I do have to give the above tweet credit for actually citing a country with a higher mortality rate than the US. So far.)
Also, in light of all the articles I read about how Chinese mismanagement gave us the virus, it’s kind of amazing that no one wants to think about the US’s role in spreading it around the world and how many non-American deaths our response caused.
