Tilman Fertitta was and is still upset with Daryl Morey over his tweet voicing support for protesters in China. Source says the fallout has costed Fertitta over $200 Million dollars.
Morey & James Harden wanted to Rockets to keep Mike D'Antoni. After the organization failed to do so, MD knew Morey knew wanted out and informed the Sixers of that during the HC interview process (DM stepped down ab a month later). That ultimately led to the Sixers hiring Morey.
Harden's issues with the organization are bigger than the Rockets moving on from D'Antoni. As already has been reported, he has issues with Tilman Fertitta's political alliances & his refusal to stand behind his players. This was made known in the bubble.
Russell Westbrook asked for a trade immediately following the season after he was made aware of Harden's desire to part ways with the organization.
Regarding a Harden trade, Fertitta is reluctant to do business with Morey and as I've repeatedly reported over the past month, is only willing to make a deal with the Sixers if Simmons is on the table. Not interested in Embiid or Harris. Sixers aren't interested moving Ben or Joe
