Imagine this year you decide to try a cake recipe that you can only find at your local library! The librarian writes down the recipe's essential ingredients and basic instructions on a piece of paper. You then get groceries and cook the cake in your kitchen.

So, the library is the nucleus of our cells, the books are the DNA, where our cells store the genetic information, and the piece of paper, with essential ingredients and basic instructions, is the mRNA. The cake is the protein used as the building blocks of our cells & 🦠.

An mRNA vaccine is a molecule (a piece of paper) that will instruct specific cells of your body to make a protein (cake) that is part of the coronavirus's envelope, i.e., outer surface. The latter trains your immune system to recognize…

(sniff the cake) and destroy the virus (eat it) if you become infected. mRNA has a short half-life, so the vaccine breaks down within hours after you receive it. It never becomes a part of your genome (DNA in the nucleus/books in the library).
