I see a lot of people saying that they won't achieve 'x' until a particular roadblock is removed. A lot of the time x = peace or happiness. One of the things I've learned from studying mental health is that it is something that needs priority no matter your circumstances. (1/x)
So if you are not satisfied with your life in your current situation, it won't necessarily be easier once you move onto to your "next chapter." Mental health is something you should consider in all parts of your life. (2/x)
The way I view it is that the more you can control you emotions and prioritize your own wellbeing, the more manageable things become. I encourage everyone to begin developing self-care strategies that help keep you in touch with your brain. (3/x)
Some strategies that are effective and well researched include breathing exercises, journalling, meditation. One of my favourites is setting an hour aside in the morning and at night to focus on yourself. Building these habits can help a lot in the long run. (4/x)
