When doing a land acknowledgment, please take the time to learn how to pronounce the tribe, pueblo, and/or community name. Mispronouncing it is rooted in settler colonialism that teaches us that we have the right to mispronounce anything that is not Anglo-Saxon.
You can get the verbal pronunciation from videos. There will always be at least one video on youtube that can help you. I find it disrespectful to do a land acknowledgment that mispronounces a name. I don't think there are any excuses. If you can't pronounce it, don't do it.
Also, I want y'all to question why you can't pronounce it? Is it because you are removed from the local tribes or Indigenous community and/or pueblo? If so, don't do a land acknowledgment bc this is performative. No actions = no words.
