Feeling so sad. My 13 y.o. daughter who identifies as male, has been lobbying me again tonight to let her have a binder. Feeling very lonely and wretched, for both of us. Her teachers & friends are 100% behind her. We're both crying a lot. @STILLTish @GetTheLOutUK
At least I'm past the screaming at her phase. That was a bad phase and I'm quite traumatized thinking that it might have cemented some of her thinking. This is all so fucking hard.
Her argument to me tonight, through her tears: "Mum if I get a binder maybe it will mean I won't want top surgery when I'm older" And then I think - would a binder be so bad? Didn't Vita Sackville West and plenty other lesbians wear them?
