Jacobin presents the Spanish Stalinists as opponents of "the right wing of the popular front." The Stalinists WERE the right wing of the popular front, demanding a stop to peasant land seizures and workers' strikes, subordinating the revolution to the Republican bourgeoisie.

2/
Jacobin: "Her simplicity and sincerity created a rapport which enabled her to voice the fears and hopes of many working-class people."

Ibarrúri: "The Trotskyists must be rooted out and disposed of like wild beasts."

3/
Jac: "Her courage was on display every day,she sauntered fearlessly along the tops of the trenches."

Ibarrúi:"Trotskyists have long been transformed into the agents of Fascism, into the agents of the German Gestapo. We saw this on the ground during the May putsch in Catalonia." 4/
Jacobin: "She ended with a rousing call for greater unity and discipline behind the program of Dr Negrín, as the basis for resistance."

Negrin is one of the greatest Stalinist criminals in history, whose premiership was to the right of Prieto and Caballero.

5/
Jacobin: "During the Munich crisis of fall 1938, Negrín proposed the withdrawal of the International Brigades, in the hope that this might tip British and French sentiment in favor of the Republic...she understood the political reasons behind the decision."

6/
Ibarrúi's speech:

"Comrades of the Int'l Brigades! Political reasons, reasons of state, the good of that same cause for which you offered your blood with limitless generosity, send some of you back to your countries and some to forced exile."

Stalinist lies!

7/
Jacobin: "She consistently met challenges with courage and was not diminished by defeat. In exile, just as they had done during the Civil War, her speeches and broadcasts helped to keep alive the spirit of resistance to the dictatorship."

8/
This last one takes the cake. "Keeping alive the spirit of resistance to dictatorship" from her comfy Moscow apartment. She helped the Stalinist bureaucracy suffocate the revolution in Spain and pave the way for Franco.

9/
The article sums up Jacobin's politics today. Their popular front is with not with the Loyalist bourgeoisie, but the Democratic Party, of which they are a faction. They suppress dissent from the left & serve to block the development of a socialist movement. Not this time!

Wait not done.

Jacobin: "She was also a passionate advocate of a professional army for the Republic."

Meaning disarming the workers militias and placing the military under the control of bourgeois officers!!!
"Ibárruri would finally return to Spain only on May 13, 1977. She would now play a significant role in the transition to democracy."

I.e. she gave a phony "left" cover to the Suarez transition, which kept Francoites in positions of power and secured the continuity of capitalism.
