The Deaf community has generously shared their language & culture with me. With that gift, I have built a career. But it always comes back to the idea of service to the community. If not for people like @Shoshannah7 & @BrendanUStern and non-Stern Deaf ppl, I’m not here.
When people thank me, I hope they are thinking of @Shoshannah7 telling @charliecapen that there should be a interpreter. Then Charlie thinking of me and @BayTerps. It could have been someone else. I was in the right place at the right time. 3/
I did put in a lot of hard work to get to this point, but again, the focus is on Deaf people and the Deaf community. I have gleaned so much satisfaction from seeing the messages from Deaf and HoH #SPN and #Gish-ers who have greater access to these events. 4/

I guess I just want to say that I’m not doing this to be a star, or to steal focus from the people really doing the work. I’m honored to be alongside them. I truly appreciate all the kind words. Being part of this community is a gift.
