Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, kick off your shoes
It's Doctor Who on Seaside Special, this week from... Blackpool!

Saturday 19th June 1976, 8.30pm

"Where's the telephone box?!" begins Tony Blackburn, on form as always.

I can't get over his tiny microphone and Tom's incredible technique at holding it.
Tom says he's come to celebrate 100 years of Blackpool "and of course to supervise the Doctor Who exhibition".

He does the old "I was here in 1837" routine to NO LAUGHTER from the kids.

Rock on, Tom.
"I came here last year and switched the lights on and that went awfully well!"

Yes, with Lis Sladen and Ian Marter, hooray!
Earlier today Tom was in the carnival, behind Miss World.

Isn't that the Miss World who married Bruce Forsyth?!
Proper Doctor Who monsters there, too!

Lots of people wearing Radio 1 shirts, so I think we know where they're from.

And some ladies whose sashes say Gold Medal biscuits. Nope, no idea.
just realised that this is The Long Hot Summer of '76 which explains why it's SO sunny.
Is that The Wurzels?!

You had to have a man parachuting down with smoke canisters on their feet in the 70s - it was the law.
I remember Seaside Special being pants, and yet look at the line-up this week!
The Goodies, Tom Baker, Ken Dodd and the cast of Are You Being Served!
