I am someone who instinctively dislikes orders to do something. I value choice a d the freedom to choose. Am I fed up with life restrictions, you bet. Do I worry about business burnt to the ground after years of hard graft ? Yes. Do I crave normality ? Yes.
But this virus killed my Dad. He was fine and then he wasn’t. Just months from a vaccine that could have helped him live. So 1/ do I think the vaccine is ok ? Yes 2/ do I take dim view of those who can’t and won’t cancel things we all long for ? Yes. Take some responsibility
It could be your Dad, just because you wanted to go out, tweak the rules, or hated being told what to do....don’t, yet. Soon, science willing, risks are less and we can all do what we want to do.
Thank you to all of you who have been kind. I am one of many who have lost someone. I know there are as many risks from the virus as there are from measures to contain it. But I believe we need to curb our impatience just a little longer, for those we all love
