Years ago my son was climbing a tree and got his foot stuck. His twin sister called me for help. He was too high up for me. He was scared and said he needed his dad. He waited 30 minutes for him to get home from work. His dad finally arrived. (1/4)
My son said, "Dad, get me down! I'm stuck and my arms are tired of holding on!" His sister watched with her hands over her eyes. My husband said, "You've got to get yourself down but I'll help you. Is your shoe is stuck? What about your foot? Can you pull your foot out?" (2/4)
My son wiggled his foot out of his shoe. My husband talked him down. My son yelled, "the bark is scraping me!" My husband said, "Yep, it's not smooth, but keep going, you're almost there!" He made it down and ran over to his dad and gave him a bear hug. (3/4)
My daughter and I sighed with relief. I was so impressed. My husband could have loosened his shoe and plucked him out of the tree but he helped him help himself instead. Kids need this. (4/4)
