I've seen the terms "quota" & "token" used in regard to Biden's admin.

Both imply if POC are chosen, it's to fill an affirmative action "quota", or are a prop to placate a specific group.
Not because they're the most qualified.

The underlying assumption is that the most qualified person would, by default, be white.
The idea that whites = most qualified is rooted in white supremacy.
Many ideas in the US have these roots.
It's our responsibility to examine them for bias & do better.
