Inside the Frigate Refit Complex tonight on @BBCSpotlight as @HMSSomerset comes out @HMSIronDuke deep into #lifex refit and @HMSStAlbans a third of the way through. Babcock today takes on @HMSSutherland the 10th #lifex to begin in #devonport with 1100+ people on the lifex job.
@HMSSomerset had almost 800,000 working hours, fitted with Sea Ceptor, new sensor systems, galley, refurbed mess decks, structural work on hull and deck, no new diesel gens.
@HMSIronDuke a much bigger job, expected to require 1.3million working hours, approx now half way through. @HMSStAlbans a third of the way in.
As for @HMS_MONMOUTH will she have lifex? Cdr of Refit Support Group, “good question, the honest answer is I don’t know”. Her fate still unknown. Clearer picture expected after integrated review.
