Here's a story about canvassing this time last year for a former northern Labour MP who really did not seem to care abt the ppl who were canvassing for her.

On this day I'd taken the day off picketing to go canvassing, so @Alex_Niven drove us down to Darlington and we canvassed for a couple of hours with the MP's staff.

Then we went into town had some lunch and started another round. At the end of the 2nd round the MP appears...

She doesn't say thank you, she barely acknowledges any of the canvassers apart from one or two who she seems to know.

Zero thank you's for us which is rather indicative of the current leadership.

Little wonder that Starmer (who's campaign she chaired) doesn't give two figs about members.

She's (Jenny Chapman) about to be made a peer so she'll never have to bother with another election.

We did one last stop that day in M'boro S & E - the candidate there was friendly & said thanks.

It doesn't take much.

How any of these goons think that they're going to retake northern seats when they think members are disposable is wild not to mention offensive.

These ppl are so insulated they have no idea how to actually sustain or build a movement capable of making any radical change (which honestly they don't want).

If you treat members as window dressing for your twitter account don't be surprised when no one comes out to canvas for your crappy campaign next time round.
