No offense to OP, but the K/H ratio tells you absolutely nothing. You can only kudos once, but you can leave multiple hits.
opening a work to mark for later ➡️ hit.
opening a work to reread it ➡️ hit
When I open a work I wanna rec to check what I commented ➡️ hit.
Etc. https://twitter.com/et_ark/status/1336538716010147840
Not all those hits are people actually reading your fic. But they might have already left/will leave kudos.
If I open a fic to MFL, then read it later, then re-read it, decide afterwards to bookmark/download, then open to check comments for reccing: that’s 5 hits/kudo for me
It’s like people think that the 9/10 hits that “didn’t” kudos are people reading their whole fic and not leaving kudos because they didn’t like it. You can’t make that assumption. See examples I gave above.
The more popular your fic gets, the more times people re-read it, the “worse” your kudos/hits ratio will get. So is that really an accurate measure of popularity/success?
You have to stop thinking 1 hit=1 individual person. It’s not. It’s just a measure of the number of times your fic has been opened.
You’ll never get an accurate measure of how many times your fic has been read/how many people have read it. Hits/kudos are approximate at best.
