I don't know about all of you, but for the longest time I have been frequently waking up agitated, uncertain and often just angry. Sure, 2020 in and of itself, is enough to make anyone feel this way. But what I am feeling is not because of this year.
This year is just a culmination of calamity that we all saw coming from long down the road. We all knew that the president, his minions and everything they touched would be toxic to the welfare, peace, safety and sanity for any reasonable politically/socially sentient American.
So here we are at what looks like a sea change and we are seeing, for the first time in our lives, a group petulance that courts treason in so many ways. Again, nothing that any of us didn't see coming. However, that hand is being played too far.
Open sedition, a call to arms to rise up and fight to the death is not how we conduct democracy in this country. It's how cowards who can't fight encourage others to fight for them. It's how weak people who hold no real moral or legal grounds battle to save their own hides.
So here I am, so here we all are, agitated, uncertain, frequently angry, but cetaintantly not surprised. Yet we must fight every instinct or temptation to let up in any capacity if we want to take back the country and actually progress.
While it's true that on January 20th a new day will dawn in America, the long dark night of subversion, corruption, lies and deceit will not. We need to double down, we need to coalesce and we need to not ever let the ruling class abuse us ever again.
If we can do these things. If we don't let up, if we demand equality and justice for all at any cost, then we will be on a path to actual greatness. Not the phoney version of it that comes from wearing a red baseball cap.
