I'm hoping this gets shared, so: I'm Adam, I've worked in video games for 15+ years as an artist and am the creative director for Astroneer..

This thread is about Miro, an app I've been using for about a year now. Presented as an online whiteboard, it's so much more than that.
The above photo is the Miro board I am using to build and organize a personal art project of mine called 'Dumbjoy'. I'm slowly building a 3D diorama of a city inspired by Toronto so I can film small vignettes around it.

Right now, it looks like this in Unreal:
My #1 attraction to something like Miro is not only does it let you design and build ideas with, but you can present them right from the same app like a slide show. Only now folks can comment right on an item, make a doodle, take a note... all from the same space.
I don't just use it for small personal projects. In fact, I mostly use it for making video games with, too. If I am not in Unreal, Max, or Slack.. I am in Miro. I use Miro to visualize a LOT when it comes to direction and goals.
Others use it as a kanban tracker. Some use for mind mapping. Just yesterday I saw someone building ART right in the app to then use in gameplay demonstrations. When I first heard of Miro, that person was using it to prototype a board game right in the app. It's powerful.
You can embed Miro in to many other apps, and you can embed tons of media in to Miro. I have Youtube, Google Maps, and Sketchfab content embeded in many of my boards.

I can embed a board directly in to Confluence, to, to supplement any documentation I've built.
☑ Sketch
☑ Plot
☑ Notes
☑ Organize
☑ Plan
☑ Compile
☑ Illustrate
☑ Prototype
☑ Present
☑ Capture
☑ Iterate
☑ Collaborate

...it's a very good tool.
What to know going in:

* Everyone uses it differently
* It will not replace documentation. I still use Confluence or Word for that.
* It does not have revision history or revision control. YOU CAN VERY EASILY DELETE THINGS PERMANENTLY. There are manual back up options, use them!
For me, Miro's been great and I try and share it with other creatives as much as I can. I love using it and use it daily.

I was going to record a video but the audio turned out crap so I thought I'd do this thread in stead.

If you're already using Miro, how are you finding it?
Small update: I briefly mention the presenting and collab tools but wanted to unpack: You can see who is viewing and where they're looking. As a presenter, you can take control of their view so they can follow along. They can stop to doodle or ask questions.
Cont'd: And if they have a specific question on something elsewhere on the board, you can follow their view and/or cursor to easily see what they're talking about.

It even has video calling right in the app if you need it. No 'Stories', though. What a shame.
