CA weather update: precipitation is now in the forecast for the northern 1/3 of the state. Light showers could fall this weekend as far south as the Bay Area, and some more substantial rains are possible 7-10 days out, mainly north of the I-80 corridor. #CAwx #CAfire (1/3)
This is good news in terms of mitigating the lingering very late season wildfire risk across NorCal. However, despite possible widespread significant precip up north, these accumulations will still be below average for a 2-week period in mid-Dec in most places. (2/3) #CAwx #CAfire
Little, if any, precip is expected across central & southern California over the next 2+ weeks. In many ways, this will be more of an autumn-like than a winter-like pattern. Unfortunately, this means fire risk will remain high across SoCal through most of Dec. (3/3) #CAwx #CAfire
