(2) As you might expect, Biden won central Maryland and Trump won the eastern shore and western MD. I am always amazed at how red Maryland actually looks when you break it down by precinct.
It is interesting to see who went blue in an otherwise sea of red. Hagerstown went blue, Cumberland went blue - both population centers in rural areas. And so did Frostburg, Salisbury and Chestertown-- all of whom also happen to be college towns.
(4) There is a hard line where red turns to blue right around the city of Frederick. There are few blue precincts to the west or the north in the whole state.
(5) Biden won all of PG County. Every single precinct. He won most of Baltimore City but there were some interesting outliers. No surprise that a few east Baltimore precincts went red, running out towards Essex and Rosedale.
(6) A few precincts in northwest Baltimore went red (and the precincts right on the county side as well) in some traditionally Orthodox Jewish communities. I didn’t realize this was a thing but apparently it is https://www.jpost.com/us-elections/why-are-so-many-orthodox-jews-voting-for-trump-analysis-647681
(7) Right outside the city line, Parkville went red. This is kind of a personal one. It just made me realize that when I drive a mile and a half up Harford Road from my home in Northeast Baltimore to go to the grocery store, I am suddenly in Trump country.
(8) As @SeanMcGoey found, Biden did much better in precincts that Trump won then Trump did in precincts that Biden won. This is Maryland, after all.
