#DND Things: Crit fumbles can cause interesting things to happen in combat if you use them for narrative effect and not in a way that is adversarial.
Do you use them or do you hate them?

I will tell you that I use both Crit fumbles and Crit successes very very sparingly. They are statistically worse for PCs and especially Martial classes.

"You are firing into a group of your allies to hit an enemy at a crucial moment. If you roll a 1 you will hit an ally."
or
"You are fighting a down hill battle and roll a 20. Your attack leaves your opponent open you have advantage on your next attack.

Any time I use them it is to create tension or triumph within the narrative. It is to ADD to the players experience and not take away from it.
