Yesterday I put out an ASMR video for deaf people - I've learned SO much so far from the r/deaf community! If you want to learn how to make your ASMR videos accessible for deaf people read this thread. (1/7)
(2/7) - First, make sure you're adding captions to all your videos, yes even whispered ones! I know this is time-consuming as YT doesn't automatically add accurate subtitles to whispers but there are ways to get around it. http://Kapwing.com is a great free source for that.
(3/7) - Another way to do it could be is you watch your video, and on your mic, basically parrot everything you whisper in a normal voice and have that go into something like webcaptioner. Then take that text and upload it as a transcript.
(4/7) - My sign language was wonky because I learned the phrases from a HEARING person. They recommended learning sign language from DEAF person videos. They said it's frustrating when hearing persons make sign videos with tons of views and deaf person's videos have none.
(5/7) - English tends to be subject verb object, whereas ASL tends to be object subject-verb.
I don't like apples vs APPLES, I DONT-LIKE.
Think Yoda.

(6/7) - The deaf community from what I gathered is super blunt and has NO time for folks who want to reach deaf people just for views. If you do ever an ASMR for deaf people video make sure you truly and authentically care about including this community.

(7/7) - They recommended a few channels so I'll list them here: CODA Brothers, LifePrint and ASL Meredith.
