1/ On self-awareness, and my lack thereof…

I speak with gym owners every day of the week. We relate to similar challenges, discuss solutions that are working for us, and often serve as accountability partners with similar goals.
2/ As I take stock of the periods of time when I’m the one lamenting struggles, it is becoming increasingly clear that my problem is a failure to follow my own advice.
3/ I’ve got all the answers for other people…

Read this, then execute on it.
Do this, not that.
Have that hard conversation.
Tidy up your approach to meetings.
Constantly track progress toward your goals.

etc. etc. etc.
4/ But then when I take a step back, and choose to be 100% honest with myself, the reality is that I have a habit of taking a “do as I say, not as I do” approach to delivering feedback.
5/ The reality is that I need to have more self-awareness when times are tough, as 99% of the time I already know the solution...I just need to accept the more challenging path.

As Gandhi said: “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”
