The platform wars are heating up. According to an analysis of domestic (Korean) Android and iOS user data, BigHit's "Weverse" platform is showing a tremendous rise, leading VLive, the existing strong player, in loyalty indicators such as user stay time and churn rate.
In May of this year, weverse usage time was 108.6 min v. VLive's time of 158.9 min. In Aug, weverse usage time was 115 min v. VLive 107 min. In Sept, weverse time was 145 min v. VLive's 109 min.
Number of MAU (monthly active users) increased by 19% from 412,000 to 492,000 and VLive decreased by 22% from 1,794m to 1,462m. For the past three months, Weverse's churn rate was 15.7% v. VLIVE's 22.9%
The growth of Weverse is attributed to better content, all-around services such as planning and operating non face to face performances and production of goods. Weverse is viewed as a growth engine for BH.
