Rich and famous directors like Nolan who apparently "care so much about the industry" (i.e. their already inflated wallets) need to sit down and get a grip on reality. We are still in a pandemic. The only way people are going to enjoy their content is at home. 1/
Not to give so much support for a corporation, but I absolutely applaud @warnerbros for making the right call here. These films that are at the top of pop culture will now be accessible to so many more people, including those for whom theaters have always been accessible. 2/
No film is so "cinematic" that it MUST be enjoyed from a theater. And I personally do miss the theater experience! Butt accessibility and safety is so much more important than the "auteur" being able to have their films on the big screen. 3/
Trust me we still enjoy your films plenty from home! It's fine! You'll still get your accolades! As for how you get paid for these major releases, sort it out with the studios! Reach new deals! INNOVATE! Just please stop trying to put people at risk! 4/
I am so tired of this conversation that honestly shouldn't be a conversation anymore. The industry and the way people access major films have been changing for a while. 5/
Please just get with the times and realize that people are VERY understandably, for whatever reason, not willing to put themselves at risk anymore. 6/6
