Did Starmer's senior staff negotiate with Corbyn's team ahead of reinstatement by NEC?

KS spokesman: "representatives of Jeremy's team [were] talking to our office because they wanted the matter resolved. It's no secret we wanted Jeremy to apologise or retract his remarks"
On the broader question Starmer's spokesman said "there was no deal on reinstatement", but said he would need to check whether Corbyn's statement ahead of the NEC hearing had been shared with senior staff in the Labour leader's office before it was published
Late addition to this thread: in response to question of whether senior LOTO staff had seen Corbyn’s ‘clarification’ statement before it was published ahead of the NEC panel, Keir Starmer’s spokesman says: “we are not going to comment on private conversations”
The reason this is important is that Corbyn’s team insist the statement JC posted in the hours before he was reinstated by NEC was given the nod by Starmer’s aides. “Not going to comment” on whether LOTO had prior sight of statement changes context of “there was no deal” line
How does it change the context? If there was prior sight, there was the opportunity to say ‘this isn’t enough’ before Corbyn published the statement... if that was conveyed, it’s hard to see why LOTO isn’t saying so, given the claim from Corbyn camp that they’d been given the nod
