Some great reporting here. A woman believed she developed a horrifying side effect of the COVID vaccine - but she was injected with salt water, nothing more. The medical condition was completely unrelated to the COVID vaccine trial she participated in. https://twitter.com/mariannaspring/status/1336599073244246019
As we rush to vaccinate billions of people, some will get sick after they receive the vaccine. It will seem, to them, that they got sick from the vaccine.

But statistically, some people out of billions get sick at any given time. Many illnesses would have happened anyway.
How do we tell the difference? Scientists track reported illnesses after vaccination and compare them to the general public. If more vaccinated people get sick, that's cause for serious concern and investigation. If the expected number get sick, the vaccine isn't the problem.
This is how we know with great confidence that vaccines don't cause autism. Vaccinated people develop autism at the same rate as unvaccinated people.

It's also how an early rotavirus vaccine that wasn't safe was pulled from market. The system works! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotavirus_vaccine#History
Humans are really good at pattern recognition. As we continue to vaccinate, you'll hear scary stories about people getting sick after being vaccinated.

Take a deep breath and wait for the statistical analysis. Getting sick after a vaccine doesn't mean the vaccine made you sick.
