Little thread on my thoughts. Just seeing some of the reactions, do people forget just how bad we’ve been over the last 7 years. Light years away, in Oles 2nd season he’s got us to the last minute of the last game of by far the toughest group with a chance of going through.
but we’ve got to have a bit of a reality check and think about the bigger picture. We were 7 years behind the top teams, that’s a hell of a long time in football. We’re edging closer but it’s still a process that takes time. There’s still changes that need to be made in the squad
The likes of Pogba who don’t want to be here, De Gea who’s constant mistakes are costing us big time. Whichever way you look at it we are moving forward and progressing but as I keep saying, It will take time we’ve competed in a group with 2 of the best teams in Europe.
I think what annoys me is we win a couple games and Oles the SAF regen, lose against 2 of the best teams in Europe and he has to go. The problem is a lot of FT don’t consider the actual big picture and just see we’ve got knocked out the CL group stage.
18/19 we scraped out knuckles through an average group and got outclassed against PSG and Barca. This season we’ve competed but just come short, focus now has to be back there next season and continue to progress.
For me the fact we’ve taken it to the last minute of the last game in a group with 2 of the best teams in Europe shows we’re getting there.
Just my 2 pennies worth, game of opinions and that’s mine. Not saying it’s right or wrong but as frustrating as yesterday was there’s a big picture and an awful lot still left to play for.
