Why do people see Billy Gilmour as a DM?

Let me break this down nice and easy.

- Everytime he played as a DM last season, Kanté was injured and Lampard was fed up with Jorginho. Every time Kanté was fit while Gilmour played, Kanté was played as the DM.
-All of Billy's appearances, apart from Liverpool, Everton and Crystal Palace, he played either in a pivot or as an 8/10. In all 3 of those games Kanté was injured and Jorginho was massively out of favor and/or missing games through suspension.
- Lampard ALWAYS had a plan for Billy Gilmour as he has said himself every single time he's been asked about him. We also know, for a FACT, that Lampard is really pushing for Declan Rice. Does it take rocket science to understand that Billy won't play as a DM?
We're talking about a player who has been either a 10 or an 8 his entire career. The fact that he has deputised as well as he has at DM speaks volumes about his talent but let's not kid ourselves. He doesn't have the natural abilities to be a shield in front of a defence....
and you also don't get the best out of him in that position.

Should he go on loan? No? We have 3 8s and quite frankly Billy is capable of starting over all of them.

Does signing Rice affect him? Not at all. Rice replaces Jorginho, Gilmour doesn't.
