1] Besides the first 25 minutes, we were not as poor as people make us out to be.

We created chances, had a lot of shots, but did not convert any. This is happening a lot this season.

2] I see a lot of people blaming "the system" as if 4321 is sooo much different than 433. It is not.

Even w/o Ansu & Ousmane, both of whom are first choice starters imo, we still get width from Alba & Dest.

Alba provided two cutbacks that could've been converted. Dest received the ball in a lot of space during good stretches of the game but was not successful.

3] The biggest problem with Koeman's 4231 is that one of the main reasons for playing a double pivot is to get the best out of Frenkie De Jong, however FDJ is not living up to his potential.

Why is anyone's guess.

4] Another mystery is why Barça can get pinned back so easily. We saw it against Juve in a 4231, but also vs Bayern in a 433.

A squad with MATS, Piqué, Lenglet, Busquets, FDJ, Pjanic, Alba, Roberto, Dest, Messi should be able to pass the fucking ball out of their own half.

5] Riqui shows he should get a lot more minutes than he has gotten. Not for his development, but because he makes the team better.

6] This was Messi's best game this season, but he no longer shoots the ball very well. 2-3 years ago he would have converted at least one of his shots.

Also, when was the last time he took a free kick that you thought "maybe he'll score?"

7] Speaking of super stars who no longer score free kicks, Ronaldo impressed me (I'm sorry to say). He really plays for his team now, a very disciplined performance.

8] What the fuck has happened with Lenglet? Maybe it's psychological and he does not respond well to the pressure of leading the defense.

9] That's it. It is still my favorite season in five years. I like seeing the kids play, even when we do not always play well.

The results have not flattered us, but results are a poor yardstick.
