Had to go out today. Had a Tourettes twitching episode and so my wheelchair stopped. I must have been in the way because someone pushed me into the bus stop layby.

Describe the despair, worry, fear and anxiety that comes from being disabled in Britain and how it feels to be seen as subhuman.

Like I said, nornally I refuse to let these things get to me but today was different. I dunno if its the time of year, the increasing despair and weariness over Labour or the lack of hope in the community that is affecting me.

No this is not a minority of people. This is not the first time or an usual event for British wheelchair users. This sort of thing happens to us all of the time.
The truth is that the UK is not a safe place for disabled people. We are not accepted. We face

Daily persecution and abuse. There are good reasons why the UK is the only nation to ever be condemned by the UN for its treatment of disabled people.

Government and literally no one cares. If a hundred thousand members of any other community had been starved to death or driven to suicide deliberately by the government, something would be done. But its just the disabled so its just overlooked.

Doesn't even rate as a priority by Labour. The leadership election candidates couldn't be bothered to reply to an request for a disabled hustings and had to be shamed into acknowledging the existence of Disability Labour all. Other groups got two hustings btw.

This is what I have faced and will face everyday. Verbal abuse, pointing and stares, whispering and laughing, "accidential" bumps into my chair, shoves, slaps, punches and being pushed into roads, hedges etc.
And you wonder why I always seem angry on here.
