The Climate of Hip Hop and Mental Health (Thread)
Mental health has been a strike for the Music community and especially for Hip-Hop.

On this thread I will focus on the climate state of some Hip-Hop artist on their experience of Mental Health.

RTs for awareness are appreciated.

Let's get into it.
Danny Brown

Detroit Rapper, Danny Brown, has talked about his issues with mental health especially since 2013 with his drug themed album XXX. On 2014 he went through an emotional rant on his mental issue. On 2016 we will see a more deformed state of mind with Atrocity Exhibition
With Atrocity Exhibition we see a darker side of the horrifying realm of Danny's mental health with drug addiction and how none helps him with it.

He would then took care of his own mental health reported on 2019 that he seemed to get better and uknowhatimsayin¿ is a triumph.
Lil Wayne

Wayne had been open about his mental health and the amount of times he had talk about committing it. He had shot his own heart at 12 but managed to survived and he would nearly get into deep Depression at 2010 nearest of him to Killing himself.
Aside from Depression, Wayne had talked about his issues with drugs as he started off from glorification of using it to sharing the destructive nature of Drug use on his track "I Feel Like Dying" to his Solange feature on "Mad" on how he was angered when he failed suicide.
Scarface

Part of the Geto Boys group. Scarface had told the story on how at age 13 he nearly commited suicide before he was institutionalised in a mental health ward. His therapy was music and through it he reflects and write his lyrics especially on Mind Playing Tricks On Me.
With Mind Playing Tricks On Me, Scarface deals with the issue of Anxiety, Paranoia and Depression which is a dark shadow to step into and his 1st and 3rd Verse is a great vivid reflection of it.
Capital STEEZ

It's hard to talk about mental health in Hip Hop without mentioning Steelo. He has been a conscious rapper along his era. His story was notable and a spark for Mental Health in HH. On December 23 at 2012 which equates to 23+12+12=47 right from the roof he jump off.
Kid Cudi and Kanye West

For both of these two, Cudi and Ye has been one of the vocal people for Mental Health. With Cudi and Ye starting a movement from 2007-08 when they released Man on the Moon and 808s then their victory on Kids See Ghosts and Ye. This will be 2 parts.
Kanye West

As for Mr West it has been no secret of him with his Bipolar Disorder. From being hospitalised and to the recent breakdown on Presidency. He made a record of his personal introspective mind on Ye about how he dealt with it. It's a wake up call for Mental awareness.
Kid Cudi

One of the biggest voice for Mental Health since the age of A Kid Named Cudi to Man on the Moon and through his discography. Cudi has fought battles against depression and have saved a lot of people from this generation from doing bad things reflecting on mentality.
I could make a whole thread on how he literally is such an amazing artisan but aside that this man had saved a lot of people including me. His music rejuvenates as a music to fight through it. If this man never existed I would have probably died by last year. Thank you Cudi.
There are also a lot of people on Hip-Hop making a lot of pave ways for Mental Health such as Mac Miller, 2pac, Earl Sweatshirt, and a lot more. These people proves out that it's alright to open up and be vulnerable and Hip Hop should be more open and aware about it more.
